What Is the Latest Workplace Wellness Industry Trends?

What Is the Latest Workplace Wellness Industry Trends?

The future of wellness industry growth is here. It’s been a decade since the wellness industry’s first major boom, and as the first wave ebbs and flows, more are joining the wellness boat. What will follow after the current boom? Experts aren’t quite sure. That’s because the health and wellness industry has a tendency to “breath into the water” so to speak – that is, it can’t be considered a static industry, but rather, it tends to grow when other industries fail, or when society changes.

In the last decade, wellness industry trends have blossomed into new areas. While many were already thinking about nutrition, weight loss and general health, new weight reduction trends came about. Along with these new weight reduction trends came new ideas about what it means to be healthy. Some wellness entrepreneurs took their ideas and went on to found companies that promoted fitness, dieting and overall fitness. Others took their ideas and formed wellness franchises that offer everything from running and walking to yoga and Pilates.

Another change in the industry comes from the types of businesses, one can open. While some used their knowledge and experience to open gyms and health clubs, others ventured into wellness tourism. Tourism is becoming big business in the wellness industry. Some wellness entrepreneurs have turned their idea into a franchise and called it Wellness Treasures, while others formed their own company to do just that.

There are a few things we can take from the growth of wellness industry trends. First, the idea of wellness may not be as politically correct as it once was. Health and wellness now have the stigma of being “in” instead of “trendy”. In order to get customers, some wellness entrepreneurs are rethinking what it means to be “healthy” and are starting products and services based on values-based marketing.

One trend that does appear to be holding true is the increasing popularity of home gyms and fitness clubs. Home fitness clubs offer an easy way to get in shape without the hassle of commuting to a gym or spending hours in the mirror. The trend also appears to be picking up the popularity of weight training and body weight training equipment. In fact, many wellness industry trends now feature equipment that allows you to train right at home. For example, treadmills and elliptical trainers are no longer seen as luxury items but fitness essentials for busy people.

The second trend to keep an eye on is travel. Many wellness industry professionals believe that the best time to open a wellness club is when the economy is doing well. If you are a health buff, you probably already know the best time to visit your local mall; it is usually the end of the month of December when everyone is looking for deals on gifts and home appliances. Travel, on the other hand, has not yet reached its peak. The best time to open a wellness club, according to these professionals, is now, while the economy remains slow and health costs remain low.

As mentioned above, wellness industry trends are focusing on employee wellness and body image. Employees in the wellness industry have traditionally been stereotyped as slobs with no self-motivation. Only in recent years have employees started to feel more encouraged about their bodies and more confident about themselves. This increased sense of self-worth has led to increased employee morale, which in turn has resulted in an overall increase in productivity. According to one recent study, the number of direct supervisors who consider employees to be self-motivated has increased by 29 percent. It is very likely that the number of employee wellness and fitness trends that appear in a future employee wellness industry report will continue to rise because the trend for more people exercising in general is now at a fever pitch.

There are also other wellness industry trends that appeared first in the workplace. For example, one of the trends that appeared first was the increasing popularity of yoga as a method of physical activity. Other workplace wellness trends that appeared first include weight loss programs, such as weight loss gyms and yoga studios. Another trend that appeared first is the growing popularity of diet and nutritional programs. These wellness trends are likely to continue to grow as people become more aware of their personal health and how it impacts their lives. The fact is that all health trends are here to stay, they just appear in different areas and at different times.
